Only you can decide if you are worthy

Living in the shadow of an older sibling led me to believe that i may never rise up to her greatness. People say it's easy to have confidence, but when they are compared by their every move, constantly feeling less superior, being judged for their intellect and brawn. Only then will they find that having confidence in your self isn't as simple as it seems.

It's a clear fact that all the complements in the world doesn't make a difference if you don't believe them yourself. Confidence has nothing to do with inner beauty or having faith, confidence is based on believing that you are worth something, that you aren't just using up oxygen. Sometimes the fear that we may never find the acceptance in our lives, can prevent us from allowing ourselves to shine when we need to.

The power of self worth is a mysterious and bewildering phenomenon. More often than not we utilize this tool for many tasks we perform everyday, the confidence to walk outside without knowing what will happen, the confidence to face your fears, the confidence to walk into a tunnel without knowing what's on the other end.

The world is full of judgements, and many of them will make you feel ordinary. But only you have the power to walk on air, and that's pretty extraordinary. Confidence is being brave, even if you're encased in total darkness

The mind can be our greatest weapon, or our worst enemy.

Sometimes our own fears can cloud our judgements, and when fear takes total control of the mind, it can prevent us from following our heart. When you have been compared to all your life, it's hard to follow the lead of someone who isn't on your level. And when there isn't a staircase to climb or an elevator to go on, it makes it impossible to follow the star all the way home. When you can't find the ability to believe in your self anymore, it's challenging to listen to anyone who puts their faith in you. And when you do face your fear and it turns out as expected, it's hard to find your way to the other side of the tunnel. Darkness may be overwhelming but even the tiniest of light can help you see with your heart. Following your heart isn't based on thinking, or taking the easy way, it's taking the path that you think won't get you lost. Knowledge, Beauty, and Age all soon fade over time, But love will never loose it's colors, it's timeless.

I Believe

As I always say, your faith is an extension of yourself. I used to believe that everyone has light, but it's come to my attention that sometimes that's not true. When i was younger, i used to always do what everyone else did, i had no voice. As i got older i wanted to do things my own way. I wanted to shape my own destiny and not just follow everyone else's. I thought that meant that i had to be different from everyone else, i thought thats what it meant to be a grown up. So what do I believe in now? I still believe that everyone has a choice to carve their own path, and not just slide down the one that's made for them. But that doesn't mean that you can't let the people that you love carry when you are weak. I don't believe in fate, I don't believe that the universe has a plan for you. You have to pave your own road, cause no one else can do it, but you. Just because family runs in your blood, doesn't mean you can't follow your heart.

Out of my Head

Let me tell you a story
A little girl named Melody is diagnosed with ALS. She can't talk or walk or do things by herself. But she has an photographic memory and can see and taste colors. Most people assumes that she has no intelligence that can contribute to her school and to society. But with a little help, she becomes known to her peers as the next Stephen Hawking. This story is from the book "Out of my Mind".This story is a perfect representation of Determination, self confidence, and never giving in. Sometimes when we get out our head, we can do amazing things that we never thought we could do. A 12 year old girl, soon gets out her own little cage full of restrictions, and leaps out into a new world full of possibilities.

Don't lose a part of your self

It's only when our beliefs are challenged, our self confidence and inner strength is tested. We can't say we have struggled when we haven't had a hurdle to jump over, a rock to push, or a mountain to climb, because a journey is not without it's obstacles. Our faith is an extension of our selfs and when thats taken away, we often feel lost and alone with no ambition or nothing to believe in. The warm embrace of having something to believe in can never be replaced, so we must not forget it. When we care to much on what other people think we can loose our faith and trust in our selfs and everyone around us. We get so caught up on what other people think of us, rather than what we think our selves. We can unintentionally hurt everyone around us in this process. When you put on that mask it's hard to take off, but with love and determination, you can reach that mountain top. Some times you need to become completely lost, hurt, and abandoned to find your way again.

This is Me, and You Can't Change That

Faith isn't about logic, it's about putting your heart and soul into something you believe in. You don't need evidence or proof about what you think happened or is about to happen, you just got to believe. Faith isn't just about the belief in christ, or Zeus, or even the fact that a minora stood lit for 8 days, it can be anything you want it to be, you just have to be willing to open your mind to the possibilities. What you choose to believe in is up to you, Faith can not be force upon someone. Your belief is an extension of yourself, it defines who you are. The problem with having something to believe in is that someone will always try to take away the love you have for something. Faith is seeing light with your heart, when your eyes only see darkness.

We Aren't Cold Blooded Crocs

Cannibalism, another way to get food by eating our own kind, but killing isn't just one way to resort to to this inhumane way to get our desires. We live in a world where we take revenge on the ones who have wronged us. At first we think it's the most important thing in the world and that it's gonna feel amazing, later we find out that it isn't quite a pleasurable a we hoped. We aren't Crocodiles, we don't hurt our own kind with such a fire and determineation that destroys everything. So why do we go to such great lengths to hurt the ones who have hurt us? It takes a tactician to go on the path of revenge, but it takes a person with compassion to become the bigger person and learn to forgive.

The Forgotten Ones

There people all around us, people who want to make living just like us. The forgotten ones are the people who are unapreciated for their diligence and hard work. They're everywhere, janitors, teachers, and especially parents. They become the forgotten ones because we take them for granted. Much like an eternal flame, they never go away. They will be forgotten for all of humantiy, history, and society. Down the drain, like they never made a difference or an impact on any one's lives. Our own cluelessness corrupts the minds of humanity to think that what ever we want or who ever we want will always be there for us, well, they're not going to be. Our own assumptions affect the lives around us. Think hard, when was the last time you said thank you and not just because you felt you HAD to. When was the last time you thought about the lives around you, the impact they had on your life. So take the time to say thank you, apreciate them while they're still here. It could be the bus driver, the cashier, or even your mom, sometimes it's just nice to be appreciated for their blood, sweat and tears for what they do for you.

Self confidence

My philosophy in life has never changed and never will, don't let other people get in the way of who you want to be. There was a speaker in my Health Ed class, she was telling us about her story and how she is a survivor of HIV. She got HIV because she couldn't learn to love herself. All her life she was told that she was ugly or she didn't have long enough hair. Over time she believed them, so in order to prove them wrong she tried find people who can love her so she can feel beautiful. Later on in life she realized that you can't love other people if you can't learn to love yourself. Society thinks that being that same is "Normal" or "Standard" but isn't different beautiful? Aren't those differences the things that makes us unique. Our clothes, how we act, our choices, they all define who we are. And no one should be deprived of that. Don't let other people make you turn into the person they think you should be. You just keep being you, and I think that's perfect. Don't you?

BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP

The people of troy was charmed by a beautiful whitten horse, they neglected to see what was inside, and they lost everything because of outer beauty. There is no debate that the quest for outer beauty at the expense for one's self has eroded personal decision. People can make assumptions, but what's on
the inside is much more important that one's appearance. People usually judge on other people's image, not one's true self. They assume that outer beauty defines them, it doesn't. Because beauty is not skin deep. That's the thing about outer beauty, it can corrupt the mind. It can make us jump to conclusions, before letting us evaluate the situation. Although someone may look beautiful on the outside, may not be as beautiful on the inside.

HUMAN

All of us are human beings, but sometimes we don't always get the respect we deserve. My own mother thinks that I'm very electronically inclined, that I constantly mess up, that she has to be the only perfect one around the house. And when she does make a mistake, she says that it's a lesson to show what we're like. Well, it took me a long time to see that I don't need approval from anyone, even from my mother. My father has always said, that my sister has this fire inside so she gets angry really easily. (she gets from our grandmother). Well, I have always known that I have the same fire as she. But I've always controlled it, concealed it made sure no one ever saw that side of me. I knew if I let it show, my  life would have a lot of drama. I now know that we are all only human. We make mistakes, we have emotions, we don't need approval from anyone. As for my mother, she can think all she wants. She can assume that I don't use my phone responsibly, I'm always playing games, or that I never read books at all. I know that in my heart that none of those things are true. Love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections.~John Legend

ALL ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENSES

One of the many lessons in life is that all actions have consequenses. It's In every t.v show, movie, even books show the most common and basic practice. All actions have consequesnces. Consequences are just another word for mistakes. Mistakes is just teachings to tell you to do this or don't do that. Sometimes we are scared to make mistakes or face the consequences. But someone who doesn't make mistakes, doesn't have the opportunity to learn and grow. So the term "learn from
our mistakes" really applies to this lecture. So these 4 words has lots of new meaning behind it. But this time it's what you think it means.

GROWING UP

Growing up.... Everybody just wants to grow up and move away, and have some independence. So what is growing up you ask? It can be many things, having sportsmanship, being treated like a real person, or Mabey it is having more human capabilities. One day I was on facebook and the picture that is displayed showed up. Some of the people said "Nah he should totally go for that gold medal in P.E"&
"No way! Go hard kid! Keep that mind set!" so I said " I'm all for doing your best, but it's all on how you react wether you lose or win that can affect on how you look on life. It's good to give 110%, but have good sportsmanship." And I'm not just talking about kids, even adults have to grow up too. Cause growing up isn't just about having more privileges. It's also learning to forgive. So you still don't know what growing up means? I'll tell you... Growing up is adapting to your environment. I know you have never heard of this definition of growing up. But it's true, to your first day of school to you day of retirement. Think about it hard, haven't you been growing up your whole life?

EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED & TRUE STRENGTH

I'm sure everyone has seen "The Lion King". The moral of the movie is that everything is connected in a million ways. Scar just wants to be king so he has tons of power, but Mufasa wants to be king so life will thrive and everybody will be happy. I got the idea to do this topic is when I read a book (harhar) called animorphs, there is a series of them but that one book was about how you can't second-guess history. And I bet you're thinking two things 1) why can't you second-guess history? 2) what does this have to do with anything? Well first you can't second-guess history because events are intertwined in ways we cannot always see, my fine feathered friends. Sometimes small things can make huge differences. The world isn't like math. It isn't just one plus one equals two. It's more complicated than that. And second you will find out how it relates, even though I just told you why. Everything you do will have a big impact on the world. The biggest thing that comes to mind is GLOBAL WARMING!!!!! In my science class we have been watching this documentary on global warming, and at first i thought it was no big deal but now I'm scared out of my wits. Stuff like gas and factories are hurting the planet in more ways than one. So lets take care of our home, because when i say stuff like everything is connected might scare you. It can also be a positive thing. "They say a butterfly beating it's wings in china, can start a tornado in America." ~ The Animorphs

                                                   TRUE STRENGTH
When you think of strength, you probably think of muscles and biceps or something. Well today I will be talking your emotional strength. Now you probably think that " What is this?! Dr. Phil?!"," Is this kid crazy or something?!" well yes to both of those questions! Now if you are done laughing to my hilarious joke, lets get on to this post. i got this idea from reading a magazine on Justin Beiber (YUCK!) and how he is in jail (YAY!) and that Selena Gomez wasn't going to rescue him (YAY! again) it was all thanks to her good friend Demi Lavato she helped her get through by telling her about this rehab facility. Now I am 100% positive you don't want to hear this. But i am just saying that Demi said something really inspiring which i am going to share with you later. Now emotional strength is having character or courage. Or maybe knowing to ask for help, so basically it is the total opposite of physical strength. It is knowing that you aren't so proud and stubborn that you can't ask for help. It is no shame to ask for help, now don't go asking for help at everything you try to do it is still good to do things your self. But know when to ask for help. So when yo think about it physical and emotional strength are kind or alike! But after all I said you still don't know what true strength is all I have to say is, it is like mental toughness. Knowing what and how to get to your goal, it is also being able to overcome any hurdle or any obstacle that comes your way. "Weakness is living in denial. Only the strongest people ask for help."~ Demi Lovato

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF & BE YOURSELF

Sometimes i feel insecure. I don't feel insecure about much, as you probably know I take kung fu. I don't really want to go through all the details, all you need to know is that i just do it for the fun of it. Anyway all my life (since I started kung fu) people say that I am gifted, or that I am really good. I'm not to sure about that, I like to say that I am okay. I've seen better, and this is what I mean that I feel really insecure about my martial arts. I want to take it more seriously and be more better, you know the person everybody sees me as. This girl Robin she is really amazing, and people like her just make me feel really...poop. I want to be good like her, then I guess truly I will feel the person everybody sees me as. Robin is really competitive (not in the way she is not a good sport) and that's why I'm not as good she is, so I needed to be competitive like her. That's what I thought anyway, See my dad is the person who always tells me I'm really good and it was just to much pressure for me. I realized that if I do I will just be obsessed with winning and my emotions will just overwhelm me and my emotions will cloud my judgment. That isn't me I like to have fun, but I to mature and take it more seriously. so i can improve more and be more connected to my roots and who i really am. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.  ~Eleanor Roosevelt
